Professional services sector set for another record year

The 11th annual Professional Services Maturity Benchmark report (PSMB) says 2017 was the “best year ever” for the global PS industry. The report — which uses the PS Maturity Model to compare service execution metrics between The Best (the top 5 percent) and The Rest — says the industry is “poised for another record year” in 2018.

The Maturity Model, created by third-party research firm, Service Performance Insight (SPI) and Unit4, helps you compare your organization to similar businesses; learn from The Best and understand where you fit in the broader global market.

What’s in 2018 PSMB?:

  • Comparison of firms by vertical market, organization size, business type and location
  • Q&As with some of the top 5 percent
  • Analysis of five service performance pillars, comparing The Best with The Rest
  • The most important focus areas for maturing organizations
  • Diagnostic tools for assessing health of key business processes
  • The characteristic and behaviors which spell the difference between success and failure

This year’s report found that the top 5 percent of the PS organizations (The Best):

  1. use a secret weapon to deliver consistent service delivery excellence
  2. have cracked the code for aligning sales and service
  3. experience low levels of attrition and high levels of employee satisfaction
  4. are achieving “enviable” financial results with “significantly” more revenue per employee, project and consultant than The Rest
