Gartner continues to mention that, "CPOs can use this research to assess how supplier incentives used across industries can help drive progress on their sustainability journey"

Here are some key findings from the report:

  • According to 2023 Gartner/SPP Sustainable Procurement Pulse Survey, pressure to deliver on sustainable procurement goals has increased or significantly increased for 83% of organizations.

  • Only 16% of orgnaizations are actively reducing Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and another 27% state that conflicting priorities hinder suppliers from prioritizing efforts to reduce their emissions.

  • Organizations leading in sustainable procurement are more likely to incentivize suppliers to support sustainable procurement goals, outpacing followers in usage of structural, financial, partnership and recognition incentives.

Understand the critical steps to deliver on sustainability goals that CPOs must assess so that supplier incentives can be used to mobilize their supply base.
